Maybe you’ve landed yourself a date at the theater with to your crush. And you’re feeling it may be the time to take it to the next level. But, what are you going to do? It’s nerve wracking, and the back of your legs probably drip in anxious sweat. Just cool it down, you’ll get through this. We are going to help you know how to make a move on a girl.
I can’t promise she’ll reciprocate, but I can promise that once you try it, it’ll become easier and easier to do.
Making the move
If you’re not sure the next steps to take, it’s really about being observant and taking her cues. Here’s how to make a move on a girl.
#1 Assess the surroundings. If you’re already nervous, and on top of that not a fan of PDA, then maybe don’t try to go in for a kiss in the middle of a group of German tourists. Or maybe you should—it could help break down your barriers and leave the audience with a good memory. Hmmm, let me think about that one.
Point is, you don’t want to make her feel uncomfortable. I’m not saying this will happen, but maybe she doesn’t feel the same way as you. So, if you decide to do something outlandishly public, be almost positive that she’s interested in you. [Read: 8 cues a girl gives if she wants you to make a move]
#2 Watch her body language. You know that whole thing about 98% of communication comes through body language? Well, folks, it’s true. If you want to know if you have the green light or not, watch her body language.
Does she look at your lips a lot? Does she maintain eye contact with you? Does she touch you a lot when she makes a joke or when she’s walking beside you? These are all signs she’s comfortable around you and is trying to get close to you. Look at the signs! [Read: 13 lusty signs of sexual attraction to keep an eye on]
#3 Take it slow. If you guys are watching a movie and you suddenly grab her face and make out with her, you have a 50/50 chance she either goes for it or smacks you. It’s a little risky. If this is your first date, just take it slow. Life is to be enjoyed—I know, you want to get into her pants, I get that, but if you push and pressure her, she will run away or smack you.
Also, in general, girls don’t like overly pushy guys, it’s not comforting. You need to make her feel comfortable. So, start by placing your hand on her leg for a second and see how she reacts. She will let you know if she likes it or not.
#4 Build up the tension, if you dare. You don’t have to kiss her in the middle of your date. You can actually try to build up the sexual tension between you two. And you still don’t have to kiss her at the end of the date. Listen, there’s no schedule for when you should kiss the girl. [Read: How to get a girl to kiss you by arousing her subtly]
Actually, not kissing her would drive most girls nuts, to be honest. That happened to me once—I had a great date with a guy, he took me home and didn’t kiss me. I was going insane. Why didn’t you kiss me! We had such a great time! But the next date, he made the move, and it was breathtaking. [Read: 15 kissing techniques for that heartbeat-skipping kiss]
#5 Do what makes you feel comfortable. If you want to put your arm around her during the movie, then do it. If you want to walk her to her front door and kiss her, then do it. At the end of the day, you just make the move when you feel the moment. There will be a moment. It may be silent between you two, or you may be laughing and suddenly you just look at each other and that’s it. That’s when you go for it.
I was watching a burlesque show with this guy and in the middle of the show, he turned to me and said, “Kiss me.” He looked at me and I looked at him and that was the end of that. Didn’t see much of the burlesque show after that. [Read: How to get a girl horny and wet just by sitting next to her]
#6 If in doubt, just ask. If you’re really unsure or having some bad anxiety, then just ask her. There’s nothing wrong with asking her, “Can I kiss you?” But, beware of this one.
If you do decide to ask her, you have to be confident. Don’t be shy or fidgety when you’re asking her. If you’re asking her to kiss you, then ask her straight up. When she says yes, don’t attack her face, gently grab the side of her face and pull her in. It’s romantic. If you do this, do it right. [Read: Make her want a second date before the first date ends]
#7 If she says no. If you’re pulling out all the moves, and she’s avoiding everything like she’s in a game of dodgeball, then you have to pull back. Why? Well, first of all, it’s clearly not consensual, and there’s a whole dish of legal issues that will be flying your way. No means no, just understand that and get over it, you’re not less of a man for respecting her wishes.
Second of all, you need to keep your dignity intact. There’s nothing sadder than watching a guy chase after a girl who is clearly not interested in him. Know when to pull out. I know she’s the prettiest girl you’ve ever seen but they’ll be another one. Just give it some time.
