The Nicholas Sparks one is truly heartfelt. I’m a big fan of his work – read all of his novels and watched every movie based on his books. He is I think underrated in this world where the likes of “Fifty Shades of Gray” earn so much money and are so well-known. He knows the deepest secrets of love and knows his way with words. Above all he knows romance and human nature which make for believable amazing characters and a stunning plot. No offence to the other quotes and the ones who spoke them, but his is the one who had a great impact on me.

I used to have clinical depression. Not shit worked as far as medicine, therapy (well that always works to an extent),etc. One day I was skipping school, just lying in my bed watching a fuck load of Phineas and Ferb and scrolling my way to hell down my Facebook page. I stumbled upon this article about how forcing yourself to smile will actually make you happier. Some science man pulled it out of his ass and badaboom badabing all the Earthlings found it to be a thing and bibbidy bang. Source. Science. Truth. So I tried it a few times. Throughout the rest of the day, I was just walking around my house forcing myself to smile and just add to the smiling by screaming at my cat and just being fucking insane (my parents were at work). It worked so well, like I was happier than I had ever been in a long time, that I decided I was going to just fake smile religiously all the time wherever I was (minus the screaming and throwing shit and ending up in an asylum part). So now, 5 years later, I can be one to tell you that it works. I’m not a science man, but I do have a high school diploma and am currently surviving college by just looking, and acting ridiculously sarcastic and overly happy. Now I’m pretty happy with my life. Don’t take any positivity away from this, however. I haven’t seen a single episode of Phineas and Ferb since that day, and that my friends is a legitimate fucking loss. Mental health? Never got me anything of meaning.

While we were dating my wife and I were watching a show about parasites. There was a guy that was pooping and found a tapeworm hanging out of his butt so he called his wife over and she cut that part off. For some reason this has become my standard of what love is. I asked my wife if she would cut out my ass parasites and she was horrified and said no… Fast forward 10 years later after I helped her through a tough labor and unplanned c-section (men you have no idea the things you will do) she said she would cut my ass worms for me. That was my favorite quote from her.
